With outstanding suitability for sealing against air and moisture, FoamPartner polyurethane foams in the REGISEAL series have a largely closed cell structure. With values under 20 L/m2s, their air permeability is considerably lower than that of standard foams with values of over 200 L/m2s. REGISEAL guarantees waterproof performance at 50% compression. At a compression of 10 %, REGISEAL seals hold a 75 mm water column for more than 24 hours without letting any water through. REGISEAL products provide low-fogging performance and are therefore extremely suitable for use in vehicle interiors. In comparison with other sealing materials, REGISEAL is especially lightweight and has a good compression set, which gives it a high-degree of dimensional accuracy for the tolerance equalization of components. Special raw materials are utilized for FoamPartner sealing foams, which are particularly hydrophobic. The low crush resistance makes the material easily compressible, so that supporting reinforcements are not needed for lightweight structures. The thermo-formability of REGISEAL is above-average, and it can be easily punched, drilled, milled, verhauten, cut, or compression-cut. Lamination is possible as well, and this opens up additional alternatives for construction and other promising application possibilities. Automotive components made of REGISEAL can be found where sealing and damping materials with multifunctional characteristics are needed for cost-effective solutions: steering column housings, loudspeaker membranes, roof rack supports, as well as seals for vehicle lighting, air-conditioning, filters, and sunroofs. FoamPartner supplies REGISEAL products in blocks and sheets or, upon request, in a version with one-sided adhesive coating.
